Mahendra Fagami, one of the four sons of Baba Daljit Fagami and Ama Dudima Fagami, was born in Begkhola VDC, Beg 2, now Raghuganga Gaonpalika 1, Beg village on April 26, 2030 BS. Mahendra Fagami, who studied in, has been selected in the volleyball team from Myagdi district and has also represented the district.
He joined the British Army in 2050 BS and is currently serving as a Captain. During his Lahure life, he has participated in volleyball, basketball, football and athletics and won. In volleyball, he has been selected from his company to the battalion, from the battalion to the army team and has also played with the whites in the National League.
Together with three members of his regiment, Chitra Bahadur Thapa Magar (Baglung) and Tek Bahadur Budhathoki Magar (Tanahu), he managed to set a world record by participating in the 27th Woolseck Race held at Gumsstull Hill in Tetbury. His team managed to set a world record by running the 60-lb Woolseck on the sloping Gumsstull hill about 274 yards away.
Currently, Captain Mahendra Fagami has been in the British camp in Pokhara for the last two years of his army life as an ARO. He might have gone further in the British Army and earned an honorary degree, but after overcoming his death in an accident in Afghanistan two years ago, he has come to the British camp in Pokhara with the intention of ending his army life from Nepal. I wish him a successful tenure.
